INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE OF GREEN RECYCLING TRAILERS

All recyclables must be placed in a designated bin, except clean plastic containers, they may be placed adjacent bin if in a plastic bag and the plastic bin is full

All materials must be clean:
Example: glass/plastic/steel food containers rinsed clean of any food. Plastic oil/soap containers-fully drained

NO GARBAGE OR TRASH IS TO BE PLACED IN OR NEAR GREEN RECYCLING TRAILER

ALL RECYCLABLES MUST BE REMOVED FROM BAGS OR BOXES PRIOR TO PLACING IN DESIGNATED BIN

Green recycling trailers are set up with separate bins to accommodate the specific needs of the local collection area. If a specific material on the green recycling trailer that you use is not accepted – Please drop off at the Recycling Center

MATERIALS ACCEPTED AT GREEN RECYCLING TRAILERS

GLASS:
1. Appropriately labeled bins NO ceramics, dishware, Pyrex and window glass (including safety glass)

STEEL CANS/STEEL SCRAP:
1. Please flatten cans to save space in bin
2. No large or heavy items of steel scrap accepted in trailer-these items must be taken to landfill for recycling

ALUMINUM BEVERAGE CANS AND ALUMINUM FOIL
1. Cans must be empty, Foil must be free of any food waste

NEWSPAPER:
1. Includes advertising inserts from newspaper, do not place in bin in grocery bags or tied bundles

MIXED PAPER:
1. This category consists of junk mail, office paper, computer paper, etc.
2. Paper must be clean and dry
3. NO SANITARY WASTE PRODUCTS (PAPER TOWELS, KLEENEX, ETC)
4. NO CARBON PAPER, PLASTIC, STYROFOAM CUPS, ETC
5. NO BROWN OR GOLDENROD COLORED ENVELOPES (PLACE THESE WITH CARDBOARD)

MAGAZINES AND CATALOGS:
1. Glossy publications only

PLASTIC:
1. Only plastic containers with the recycling logo and number (1 - 2) are recyclable at this time
2. Containers must be clean Containers with liquid must be drained
REMOVE ALL CAPS:
1. Please flatten to save space
2. No foam meat trays, packing peanuts, ridged Styrofoam, or similar materials

ADITIONAL MATERIAL ACCEPTED AT THE RECYCLING CENTER

CARDBOARD:
1. Includes food & beverage packaging, cereal boxes, beer and pop packaging, brown grocery bags, brown and goldenrod envelopes, gift-wrap, and phone books
2. No waxed cardboard or oil contaminated cardboard
3. Please flatten boxes

USED OIL AND OIL FILTERS:
1. Used oil should be placed in sealed plastic containers to transport to the recycle center
2. Oil filters should be drained and in a sealed container to prevent spilling
3. Ask the attendant at the Recycling Center for assistance with oil filters and used oil

USED CLOTHING:
1. Bring clothing clean and ready to place in store

HOUSEHOLD ITEMS:
1. Including books, toys, dishes, home decorations, small appliances, hardware, tools, bedding, sewing supplies, and etc

If you have a question about whether the Budget Shop will accept, specific items ask the store clerk. All items must be in usable operating condition

SPECIAL BINS ARE LOCATED OUTSIDE THE RECYCLING CENTER FOR CARDBOARD
